IB Data - Refresh and Playback Information for Ensign

Thanks for the feedback. I think too many people are using different vocabulary when asking or discussing an issue.

Let me clarify the state of affairs for both the users and my staff.

REFRESH:

Ensign currently uses DTN Market Access as a refresh resource for ticks and intra-day bars for IB users. The tick refresh
available is 100,000 ticks or Today's ticks for a symbol, which ever is greater. The intra-day bars refresh is 120
calendar days. The refresh is subject to the exchange's delay requirement.

IB is coming out with or has released a Beta version that is supposed to have a tick refresh. Ensign has not yet written
program changes to utilize this tick refresh resource available from IB. This is a project yet to be implemented.

PLAYBACK:

IB users can download prebuilt playback file posted on the Ensign or the dacharts web sites.

Or, they can build their own playback files for either of two sources. On the Playback form is a check box labeled
'Build from Tick Pool'. If the box is unchecked, then the Build button will fetch tick data for today from the DTN
Market Access refresh resource. If the box is checked, then the Build button will build a play back file from the
ticks that were stored in the tick pool today while the Ensign program was connected to the TWS.

My statements given above are the declaration of how things work in Ensign Windows for the IB feed.
