How to plot TICK or TICKI range onto a price chart |
Available in 1-14-2005 version 7:20 tradinoncoffee: TICK cannot be plotted as an overlay on tick, volume or range because it is incompatible as an overlay. So my idea is to normalized it to a range since it oscillates between +1200 and -1200 17:21 @Ensign_H: ok, how would having the information as a percent change anything? 17:21 tradinoncoffee: change it to -100 to +100 or 0 to 100 17:21 @Ensign_H: so you want to see it as overlay, like a study line, done with alerts in real-time? 17:21 tradinoncoffee: it could be plotted in a study window like a stochastic, to monitor exhaustion 17:21 tradinoncoffee: yes 17:22 @Ensign_H: ok, let me ponder, which is the first one of my 3 minutes - 1 moment 17:55 @Ensign_H: back
17:56 @Ensign_H: toc, this should give you the power in a single alert to do what you want. 17:56 @Ensign_H: panel A fetches the TICK, in the IB case $TICK-NYSE (Use symbol for your feed) 17:56 @Ensign_H: and panel B will convert it to a percent 17:56 @Ensign_H: panel B could also do the TIKI +/- 30 by using Number 30 17:57 @Ensign_H: so the 570 is 73.75% of the range, and ready to plot on a stochastic type of panel 17:57 tradinoncoffee: so can the result from B be plotted in a study window 17:57 @Ensign_H: of course B can be plotted, change the Position to 'B' Value and use the False marker and color 17:58 @Ensign_H: but again, this is a value look up, not a data set, so it will work in real time but not show any history 17:58 tradinoncoffee: that is ok 17:59 @Ensign_H: if I try to show this on the chart now, it would be a horz line at 73.75 percent
12:56 @Ensign_H: er2, the # min High or Low is just another NEW selection in the Charts Value category 12:56 er2: thanks Howard 12:57 Red: it was all in selecting the grid line checkmarks, fixed, thanks |
