Download Instructions

• Go to the www.ensignsoftware.com site and go to the download page to start the download, or download here . Download version 2.1.x of the client program (as of 3/2/04). Do not download version 2.2.x from the ventrilo.com site - it is not compatible
• The browser will ask 'Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?'
• Click the 'Open' button. The download will proceed.
• When the download is finished, the installation will start. Proceed through the installation.
• Use the default installation folder, and install a Ventrilo icon on your desktop.
• At the end of the installation, run the Ventrilo program by clicking on the desktop icon.
  
  
• In Ventrilo, click the right arrow to the right of User Name. Click the NEW button and enter your chat name, then click OK twice.
  
  
  
• Click the right arrow to the right of Server. Click the NEW button and enter ENSIGN as the name under Setup New Server, and then click OK . Fill in the IP and Password as shown below, and then click OK .
  
  
  
  The port number should be selected from the following table:

• Click the Setup button and the following screen will appear (the comments below are keyed to the red numbers on the Setup screen):
  
  

1. You should be able to adjust the Hardware Volume slider. If you can't ...
2. You may have to adjust the Mixer setting from its default.
3. Click on the Use Push-to-Talk and Use DirectInput checkboxes
4. Set a push-to-talk Hotkey (example here is Right CTRL key) by clicking in the box and then pressing your preferred push-to-talk Hotkey
5. Adjust Outbound and Inbound Amplify settings to taste.

• Click OK to close the Setup screen.
• From the main screen, click on Connect to open a Ventrilo voice chat session.
